Several universities and university colleges have summer schools for foreign students. They offer a wide variety of courses and their application deadline is around February- March.
Below are some of the available summer schools this year:
International Summer School at the University of Oslo (ISS)
The International Summer School in Oslo offers a variety of courses at undergraduate and graduate level, focusing on various aspects of Norwegian culture and society, as well as international issues.
The summer 2012 program starts 23 June and concludes on 3 August.
Students begin the application process by completing an online Pre-Application on the ISS website. To obtain a scholarship application form, students must first complete the Pre-Application. The application deadline for scholarship applicants is 1 February 2012, but qualified self-paying/sponsored applicants may apply after the deadline and will be admitted as space permits.

Summer School at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences (HiOA)
The 5th International Summer School at HiOA will be arranged from July 2nd to July 20th 2012. In addition to the courses, HiOA will arrange social and cultural events, excursions, and field trips.
The HiOA summer school 2012 offers the following courses:
- LATINA - Learning and Teaching in a Digital World
- Philosophy with children
- International Public Health
- Globalisation and Development
- Network and System Administration (NEW!)
- Universal Design (NEW!)
Application deadline is March 1st, 2012. Applications can be accepted after this date, depending on availability. However, it is recommended to apply by February 1st, for nationals of countries that require a visa to visit Norway.

Bergen Summer Research School
The Bergen Summer Research School is targeted for PhD students and junior faculty, and wishes to form an international platform for discussion on key global challenges such as poverty, health, culture, environment and energy.
Deadline for submitting the application form is 15th February 2012.
