Entry Visa (Skilled worker)

Highly skilled workers / specialists (e.g. engineers, nurses, etc.) are persons who have specialist training in a particular field or have special qualifications needed in Norway. Applicants who have obtained an official (written) contract (offer of employment in their specialist field) may apply for a 7 days Entry Visa in order to enter Norway and apply for a Residence Permit in Norway. It is not possibe to start working before a Residence Permit has been granted.

An Entry Visa is a 7 days' national visa and does not give access to other Schengen countries. It is, however, possible to transit through an other Schengen country on the way to Norway.


The following supporting documents must be submitted with an application for an Entry Visa: 

  1. One duly completed application form, signed by the applicant

  2. Valid passport (plus one copy) with at least six (6) months validity

  3. One (1) passport size picture with white background (please mount picture on the application form using adhesive tape or glue, picture should not be older than 6 months)

  4. Original proof of qualifications (diploma, certificates of training and PRC ID, if any, plus one copy)

  5. Documentation of professional experience (plus one copy), if applicable

  6. “UDI Offer of employment” or standardized UDI contract of work (plus one copy)

How to apply

 

Applications should be lodged through the Application Portal (select 'Schengen Visa').

 

The Fee will be refunded when the applicant submits his / her supporting documents.

 

Applicants who do not have an employer yet may write NA in the field for 'Employer name and address'.
