Demand for skilled workers continues

Government officials, members of the diplomatic community and representatives from Norwegian businesses in the Philippines were present when Norwegian Ambassador Knut Solem declared the Norwegian Visa Service Centre as Officially Opened. The ribbon was cut by Visa Officers Ms Judith Lopez and Ms Florence Talahib.

Due to the high occurence of fake and forged documents in the Philippines, the Embassy verifies documents issued by Philippine authorities. However, erroneous registrations occur. It is therefore important that applicants check that the data held on them is correct before submitting an application.

Ambassaden har den siste tiden blitt kontaktet av flere nordmenn som har opplevd å bli lurt av filippinske borgere i forbindelse med søknad om visum eller oppholdstillatelse. Dette gjelder på ingen måte de fleste sakene, men det har dukket opp nok tilfeller til at ambassaden ønsker å publisere en advarsel.

On the 5 April 2010, the New Visa Code was implemented. Travel Medical Insurance must now be submitted with the application and is subject to a new validity requirement. Moreover, the Insurance must be bought from an Insurance Company that is accredited by the Schengen Group in Manila.
